Wesleyan student honored with the Jack Mangham Experiential Learning Award

Minfei Zhao, Wesleyan Class of 2019, has been selected as the winner of the Jack Mangham Experiential Learning Award sponsored by the Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers. In addition to the honor of being one of two winners in the state, Minfei will also receive a cash award. This is the third consecutive year that a Wesleyanne has won this prestigious accolade.

The winner of the Jack Mangham Award is determined based on a student's exemplary experiential learning experience (internship, co-op, etc.), academic success, faculty recommendation, and commitment to on-campus leadership. Minfei won this award as a result of completing a human resources internship with China Resources Land, Ltd., a Fortune Global 500 company. Through her experiences in this internship, which included creating online and in-person recruiting strategies as well as conducting phone screenings with candidates, Minfei decided to pursue graduate study in human resource management with plans to attend the University of Minnesota in the fall.

Minfei is from Shaoguan, China. She graduated summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA, earning her bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan with a double major in economics and international business and a minor in finance. She was a President's Scholar and earned a Trustee Scholarship. Also, she was honored as Outstanding Student in Economics, won Best Paper in Social Science (2018 Georgia Collegiate Honors Council), and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

Wesleyan also congratulates nominees Renee Gable and Kourtney Mydlowski who made it to the state finals for consideration.
