About Wesleyan College

Wesleyan draws a wonderfully eclectic mix of women – about 700 in all – from across the United States and more than twenty countries, bringing to campus a multitude of backgrounds and ethnicities. Wesleyan students choose to study here because they want to test their limits. The bar is set high because our students demand it. First for Women isn’t just a claim to fame - it’s a philosophy that explains why Wesleyan women continue to make history today.

Wesleyan's Class of 2022 set to be largest in 17 years

July 10, 2018

Next month Wesleyan College will welcome her largest first-year class since 2001 and the second largest class since 1976. With over 150 first-year students and an additional 60 students who are transferring from other institutions, Wesleyan is preparing for an exciting fall semester.

"It is quite an accomplishment  for our team to turn enrollment numbers around to this extent in just one year. I'm thankful that we've been able to help the College grow its enrollment and I'm hopeful the trend will continue," said Vice President for Enrollment Clint Hobbs.

First-year students and their families were formally introduced to Wesleyan during Summer Orientation on June 22. Interactive information sessions were set up to provide assistance with financial aid, academic advising, tours of the campus, team-building activities with classmates, and transition to college discussions.

Wesleyan's new students and families will be welcomed back to campus for PACK Weekend which kicks off with Move-In Day on August 10th. Orientation Leaders (OL) who served as guides during Summer Orientation will pick up right where they left off by leading team-building activities, facilitating programming designed to make the transition to Wesleyan easier, and making sure new students get to their PACK Weekend sessions. This year, the College will hold Matriculation the same day as Move-In to ensure families are able to witness this important milestone in their student's college career.

"Our goal is to make sure our new students feel welcome and part of the Wesleyan community as soon as they step foot on campus. Our Orientation Leaders have been trained to answer all kinds of questions about Wesleyan, and they look forward to interacting with and assisting our new students during their first days on campus," said Director of Student Involvement Alex Yancey.

The first week of classes, Welcome Week, will be action-packed with programming each night. Activities include trivia night, a campus-wide barbecue, and a mentalist show. A first-year retreat and service project are planned for later in the month.
