“I transferred to Wesleyan for several reasons. First, I grew up in Macon and always wanted to go to Wesleyan. The small community and low student-to-professor ratio are just right for me. I have found some of my closest friends here and our education and music departments are the best. Also, I am a United Methodist and wanted to attend a United Methodist school. Lastly, my grandmama went to Wesleyan.”
Samantha Arnsdorff, first-year, athlete, day program transfer student
Meet Samantha Arnsdorff, a first-year transfer student and athlete. After dealing with health issues pretty shortly after enrolling in college, her education was put on hold until she found Wesleyan. “I came to Wesleyan to visit my God sister and I just fell in love with the place. After talking with some people here I decided I wanted to transfer to Wesleyan, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Wesleyan has given me the opportunity and the resources I need to get my education, all while making me feel at home. Taz is my ESA and he is a big reason I was able to make the commitment to Wesleyan, and I am so thankful that Wesleyan made accommodations for me to have him! Wesleyan has become my home.”

“I started college as a young mother at the age of 23. At the time it was hard to find a balance between working full-time and going to school full-time which resulted in me not finishing my degree. Seven years later I decided to take a leap of faith to go after my bachelor’s degree in business administration. When I began searching for the college that would best fit my needs Wesleyan stood out to me in so many ways. Being a busy mom and wife and working full-time can be challenging while trying to also balance college classes, but the online program at Wesleyan accommodates my schedule so well. You still get that classroom feel through weekly face-to-face live class sessions with professors. Going back to school was very intimidating but the faculty and staff at Wesleyan have made my new journey so much easier with the great support and influence this school provides.”

“After completing my associate degree at GMC in Warner Robins, I was looking for a college that would help me earn my bachelor's degree without leaving me in big financial debt. I chose Wesleyan because of the financial support and because ever since I set foot on campus, there was someone willing to help me understand the higher education process. I am very thankful that I ended up at Wesleyan because not only have I met great people and knowledgeable professors, but I have also been guided to find my path after college. Thanks to the CCD resources on campus, I was given the opportunity to apply and experience an unforgettable internship with Amazon. There I learned about leadership and the importance of caring for one's employees and customers. After college, I will be accepting a full-time offer with Amazon. I hope to, in the future, go to graduate school and eventually become a digital content program manager.”
